About Future Arts

Seattle’s pioneering, women + non-binary led new media arts collective bringing tech-forward, accessible and immersive art to the city. We bridge technology leaders, underserved interdisciplinary artists, and young minds. We connect the physical alongside the digital (IRL + URL) through place-based stories that imagine our collective future. Our values are inspired by emergent strategies of nature, and our systems are powered by our communities.

With decades of experience curating immersive artworks, public events, digital programming, and gastronomic pop-ups, Future Arts brings together local and international creative talent to enrich and enliven Seattle neighborhoods and evolve global networks.

We are building deeply integrated ecosystems for the creative economy to thrive, questioning the ways our systems have worked together. How do we remain fluid, yet structured? Let’s look to mycelium’s immense resource sharing structures, let’s build the way trees protect each others’ roots, let’s ask dandelions’ resilience to cross-pollinate new ideas, and let’s most importantly ask each other — who are you, why are you, and how are you? Who are your ancestors and what stories have not been heard in our world yet? How do we not lose the sense of who we are, our true natures.

How do we have technology reflect who we are, not define who we are?

BRIDGE

To cultivate creative synergy between future artists, the community, and tech corporations through employment development and accessible programming initiatives.

ECOSYSTEM DESIGN

Devoted to engaging and empowering new media voices that have historically been underserved in the technology + arts fields, we use emergent strategy rooted in nature’s ancient wisdom to build community-driven initiatives that are structured, yet fluid and adaptable to the ever-changing future.

MANIFESTO
Future arts is….
where art and technology create synergetic spaces to collaborate, innovate, and break the systems that bind us. Where our ancestors come to share and our children come to listen. These borderless connections are safe, welcoming of voices that have not been heard in way too long, and reflect who we want to become. Here we push technology to the limits of its capacity in order to save the planet, build radical social bridges, create dignified jobs for the arts, and come back home, together, again & again — ·
